ParticipantI have a Miele WT 2670 which has developed a fault. It’s just over 5 years old, so is just outside its warranty period.
The washing programmes all seem to be fine.
When selecting a drying programme, it starts and runs as if normal. However I don’t hear it do the fast spin part of the programme, and the air is never heated so the clothes come out as cold and wet as they went in.
I suspect an expensive visit from a Miele engineer may be required!
However is there anything easily fixable I should be checking for, before placing the call?
Thanks – Rufus.

Is this the washer dryer? if so look under the lid(2 torx 20 bits on side of lid) and sometimes on top of the dryer duct there is a thermostat with a red square/button press it in if it clicks everything should work ok again for a while but the chances are its a blocked condenser channel at the back of the machine clogged with fluff which needs cleaning/replacing or poor circulation fan etc.
POWER OFF FIRST!

Thanks for the detailed response phil.
It is indeed the washer dryer. I’ll take the cover off, and have a poke around tonight (having disconnected from the power first). I also have found a local engineer who can visit on Monday if all else fails.
I presume the red button on the thermostat is an overheat safety cut off. Does this mean that even if it fixes the problem I should still get the engineer to visit and service the machine and look for underlying causes.
Thanks again – Rufus.

Hi, yes it is an overheat stat so there will be a problem somewhere be it a blockage(usually in the plastic channel at the back absolute pig off a job!) or just poor circulation so it might be wise to call the engineer in anyway.

Thanks again for your help.
Took the top off the machine, and it did indeed just need a stat resetting.
Engineer will visit tomorrow to investigate the cause, and probably do the “pig of a job” – rather him/her than me!
Will update the thread if he/she finds anything interesting.
