ParticipantI have a technical question for those who repair Hotpoint machines, in particular Hotpoint dishwashers.
The model is DWT10P, serial number DWT10P 2472589 incase it is important. To my knowledge this is a Haier made machine, I may be wrong, but that is what I think, the reason is the case, hinge, pump and motor.
The problem I am experiencing is; the machine is filling, and then goes into drain with an error code of the fourth and sixth (out of seven indicator neon’s) flashing. Before you reply with the reason, I think an explanation of events leading up to this point.
Original fault was the machine was tripping the RCD unit. On my visit the customer explained they had drained by hand the water out of the machine, for obvious reasons. On checking out the machine heavy scaling was noticed at the top of the inner door and heavy scaling was around the door switch. Door switch and cabinet seal was ordered and fitted. During the course of testing out, the RCD tripped, I noticed water in the base and a connector was touching the water, I raised the connector and secured out of the way, and continued the test now looking for a small leak, as the water was a very small amount. Water was noticed to be dripping from the left side where there is a solenoid for the salt pot, and a pipe over the top. I fiddled with the pipe to check if it was coming from there, when quite suddenly water poured into the base. With machine on its R/H side (facing the machine) and base with safety float removed, the cause was very evident; a switch unit had become detached from a tube. This switch was not secured into the tube by any means. With this switch now secured and the pipe checked for any wear/damage, the machine was up-righted and placed on test. It was during this fill the above-mentioned error occurred.
So have I inadvertently caused this error, I assume it an overfill error, if so, I checked the water level and it was quite low, but above the filters and well below the rotational arms.
All above work was carried out in a safe and workman like manor, taking into account all safety precautions etc. And all water was cleared up after leak and before any further work was undertaken.
Your help and advice would be appreciated.

Heater/PCB possibly faulty.
Its not Chinese, it would have the letter C as part of the model number. None made by Haier, the Chinese/Indesit/Hotpoint clones are made by Wuxi Little Swan.
This is an Indesit with Hotpoints name on it. :rolls:
That little flow meter/pressure sensor did have a clip on it, one of those stupid, hard to remove, near impossible to refit things on some machines.
I have seen this component come adrift on several of these, managed to get a very small jubilee clip to hold it on.

First thing Jim, thanks for the PDF, appreciated.
Also thanks for the reply. I will make an appointment with the customer for ASAP, and recheck the heater.
This was meggered originally to be OK, also when on test when seal and switch was replaced. For the original programme set by customer had not been cancelled, so carried on when set up again, this must have been the final rinse as the heat was working at that time. On my return I will megga heater again and possibly fit one just to the connections and test, making sure no naked wires sure making an earth contact. If that fails to produce the result I would be looking for, then how do I check the PCB without the obvious expense, I think I know your reply, I don’t know unless I change it! I know its an obvious answer but I have to ask, its one of those just in case things.

If the heater meggers out Ok then 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it is the PCB, very flaky boards in these. Heater earth leaks can also give spurious fault codes.
Part number is C00143207. A bit dearer than the standard board, list around £43.00 ex vat.
