ParticipantI guess a tip maybe throw it in the skip now…..
I am trying to work out how to get access to the pump to check for leaks and also the belt needs replacing.
I picked it up with the belt broken and reports of “occasionally leaks”.
Drain pipe appears clear.Drum turns OK.So far removed rear element cover and lid….now stuck
Currently struggling to remove the back panel as the rear fan that is exposed refuses to come away from the holding
shaft that connects through to the motor.(removed short 8mm bolt)I wish I had search the forum before trying to fix this….so I know its a White Knight with a reputation….
Any advice most welcome?
Regards
Chris

It’s a White Knight in a dress and is a complete and total evil cow to work on. To access the drain pump, the entire back panel must be removed, then the inner drum.
If you go onto http://www.bshcustomerservice.com and follow the links into Bosch spares, you can put your model number in and study the exploded diagrams of the machine and get an idea of what you’re up against.
Good luck……

Penguin45 thanks for your reply
I have studied the diagrams but am stuck because of the rear fan.
Do you know how this comes away from the motor shaft?
Its plastic fan wheel (267101 in diagram) and I expected this to come away from the shaft after removing the end bolt.
It may be seized or am I missing a trick?
If I can get the fan off then the rear panel should then fold out…I think?

Thanks again!

It’ll be seized on – Company engineers smash it and replace…… 😯
Good dose of penetrating fluid and leave it for a bit usually works if you’ve got the time to wait. Two screwdrivers behind to get it moving. Dont lose the drive dog in the keyway on the shaft.

Many thanks Penguin45!
With a lot of effort and patience I have managed to remove the rear panel
Goodness me the three screws holding the central spindle were seized also and required an impact driver and lots of wd40!I have taken out the pump and it looks like the end of the pump shaft(o ring and plastic cap) had dropped off!
Absolutely terrible design…….
I can reassemble BUT I almost certain the end will drop off again within minutes of reassembling.
Can you advise a more permanent fix…..perhaps suitable glue or silicone?
It isnt worth spending the money on a new pump -especially as I will have to buy a belt as well…….Thanks again in advance of your reply.

You might be on a hiding to nothing with this – I have never managed to re-attach the impellor permanently and the pump motor is over £40 if you buy it as a WK part (Cheaper than Bosch).
Still, educational experience…. 😀

I can pickup a WK pump for about £25 and a belt for about £15 so will probably go ahead and fix the thing.
I have superglued the impellor end cap onto the pump but am not confident it will have any longevity.
Any tips for fitting the belt?
Looks like it will have to be fitted blind as the main support for the drum comes from the flimsy back panel….could be a real pain in the proverbial.
If I think I can make a good job with the belt then I would also fit a new pump……….no real point unless I can do both…. me thinks.
Thanks again

Superglue is not waterproof…..
Belt – remove the duct which the motor shaft passes through. Re-fit duct. Drop drum into the machine. Using extreme prejudice, wind the belt onto the drum by turning it. An extra pair of hands at this point is helpful. Once the belt is on and more or less on the track round the drum, then fit the back panel to the drum support. Refitting the back panel to the casing will tension the belt.
Wash hands and fit plasters.
