ParticipantHi
As the subject title says, the oven is turned on but does not heat up to temperature, it gets warm but not too hot to touch. The grill in it works.
Any suggestions as to what it might be? The top oven works fine.

Is the thermostat light coming on when you switch on the main oven?

yes, if I turn temp down from 200 to 120 the thermostat light goes off to say it has reached temp

Is the oven heating while the thermostat light is on?
I’m wondering if the thermostat is coming in too early.
Put it on the maximum temperature and see if it heats up enough, please.

yes it is, turned it up this morning to 250 and it was on for an hour and never got above 120, same happened on Sunday (while the roast pots were supposedly cooking!)

Because the thermostat was comming in too early? Or was the light on all the time, but it didn’t reach the required temperature?

Yes fan and speedcook to preheat the oven

I can’t tell from what your saying whether your thermostat is faulty, or there’s an element that’s not working.
Is the thermostat light going off too early? Or is the light on all the time, but the oven isn’t reaching the required temperature?

If I’m setting the oven to heat up to 200 the thermostat light stays on and the oven never reaches that temp, if I then turn the temp down to 120 the light goes off (suggesting that the temp is up to 120), so I would guess that the thermostat is ok…

I reckon it’s a faulty element then. Can you test for continuity? Power off first of course :zap:
Don’t know what ‘speedcook’ is though. I’d guess it uses the other elements (grill) to boost the initial heat in the oven.
If the oven doesn’t heat at all without speedcook, then it’s 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain to be the main fan element.

How do I test for continuity? (after power off!)
Speed cook is all elements on and heat reached is same as with fan element onok I see you probably can’t tell me that – time to call in an expert!
