Hi guys,
I was out to this machine today and it has me stumped. Its a whirlpool awm1201. When you start a program, the door locks, runs its diagnostic and starts to fill. After about 30 seconds it stalls, door remains locked. After a further 3 minutes it pumps out and ends. I assume it figures out theres a fault? Checked carbons, interlock, heater and so on. Any one have any ideas? How do all whirlpool appliances have the ability of making me feel like a child?? Just checked the price of a programme for the above machine 218 pounds plus vat from connect, thieving DGFHDGo’;dvujdvjDV ERSS.

I deemed this machine ber today so its slap bang in the middle of my workshop…….Its getting fixed, hell or high water, come on guys take a stab at it……..anyone? 🙂

Hi Mate, have you attempted a test programme on it?
Press all option buttons
Select Drain and then push start button until pump starts running
Press first option button 4 times within 10 seconds
The test then should start running.
Off the top of my head the sequence lasts around 3 mins.
If you want to jump through the options press the second button (so its in the out position) and then to move on to next press last option button and then for the rest press the first option twice each time you want to move on.

had one similar, and it turned out to be a broken wire to the motor 😯 it was broken about 6 inches back from the motor connecting block ❗

Thanks for the tips guys, went at it today and checked all wiring for breaks and so on, all was good. I had a different module from a whirlpool ber in the shop so I whacked it in and of she went…The module I used doesnt have the old machines cold wash function or variable spin speed sockets but its working fine. Its a shame that whirlpool continually price these boards way beyond any decent kind of price. Thanks again.
