    Hi

Got a Hotpoint WMT03P and the brushes are worn. Now I am not sure what make motor it is (looks like a Bosch type sort of?) but the carbons slot in place like bosch ones do but they have got spade terminal type ‘wings’.

Can anyone help me with the part number?

    Hi 13

No problem the part number is 1603910 for the FHP motor, which will soon become the norm as GDA are stopping the supply of the old motors and armatures soon I am led to believe. They also fit some of the Zanussi motors, but a bit cheaper. There is also a pattern “insert” available from Connect, part number CBN9121.

    Regards.

    Dave.

And welcome to the site by the way.

    Thanks for the greetings Dave!

actually I have checked your connect no. on their site and that is the AEG type that includes the black holders.(not what I have here) These are more like Bosch brushes with tails that slot into the end of the holder?

    Hi 13,
Try 12 AG 03 from Europart Maddocks. It’s worth it just for Peggy’s mellifluous Welsh accent.

    Re: Hotpoint WMA Carbon Brushes

We have come across 3 differrent motors fitted to Hotpoint Wma’s. The FHP ones (like aeg but with the tag facing the opposite way like the late AEG rahter than the early AEG L & R types, Siemens ones which I think is what you have here, I do have the part number at work but not right now, I will post tommorow if no one else has. I cannot remember the 3rd one but there is definatly one out there. With merloni now involved who knows, maybe soon we will be having check the colour of the writing on the label.

    Hi,
FHP is now a group comprising what was AEG’s motor division, ZEM Sole, and a czech firm whose name escapes me after several pints of beer. They have obviously opted for a common brush across the product range (12 AG 03 from Europart). There is one exception however – the high spin AEG motors with the cartridge holders are fitted with SUPER SIZED brushes, for which no separate inserts are currently available. You can buy gen under 8896454255770 or pattern from Europart under 12 AG 05.
FHP can be contacted at http://www.fhp.com , but they never respond if you say the magic word – SPARES.

Not sure if Merloni are involved – AEG and Zem Sole are part of Electrolux Group aren’t they?

Hope this is of some use,
    Penguin.

    Re: Hotpoint WMA Carbon Brushes

I am sure it is a Bosch motor not CESET (the washvac bin no. did’nt work)
Can I send you a picture of the old ones?

They are just Carbons on springs with a tag on the end that looks like 2 spade terminals.
