Participantbeen here today and the fault was not getting cold enough in the freezer but the fridge is fine i have worked on a few older units but this is the first of these i have seen, the cust says she def it after advice from somebody and ot reached -18 the it rose to -12 to -13 and thats where it is now.the evap is a little bit frosty but nothing major the heater is okay and o/loadi never saw the fan running even when closed the door switch but i presume it must be as the fridge is at 1. the fan has 4 wires going into it,checked the condensor fan motor fine and running.have these got a fan delay on and could it be faulty?
any advice appreciated

hi chris, more than likely to be the fan, but could also be the main board on this too.
the fan would be the cheapest option and as i say, the more likely.cheers.

thanks for reply alf do you know if the fan should kick in when door switch is closed? and with the fridge being at 1 deg would it get down to there if fan was gone?

hi chris the fan should work with door open. fan faults on these are fairly common, well should i say not unusual.
on most models there isnt a fan delay. if the fan’s not running and it’s not impeded by the housing, then i’d be fairly confident that the fan is the problem.
you can check output of the board to the fan and also resistance of the fan from pins on connector j2 on the main pcb, at the rear.
if you’re stuck i could dig out the info for you?cheers.

hi chris, no real common faults on these apart from the ones listed above.
you’ll need to check that the fan is not being impeded by the housing, short of that, it’s just a matter of checking it out.cheers.
