Our Hotpoint HME400N fridge freezer that is coming up with a message on the display. The error light is not lit which according to the manual if there was a fault it would be lit.
However we cannot select any options such as fast chill or other features.
Consulted the manual and also hotpoint who do not have the error listed and dont know what it means.
It comes up with DE ON then it changes to an EF S without the l part of the E.
It looks like defrost of some sort but it doesnt have a self defrost system.
This stays on the display unless we turn it on and off, it has been defrosted, so its not frozen up.
Fridge and freezer are both at working temps so what could the problem be?
No functions can be selected on the display.
