Hi there I have a Creda T632CW tumble dryer, that wont work on the sensor setting, but will on the 30min. Do you have any ideas what I’ll need to fix this?

Are you trying it without any damp clothes in it?

Remove the mains plug and take off the lid. There should be a small braided copper brush touching a band that runs around the drum.

Is this brush in place and connected?

Hi, thanks for your reply, yes running it without any clothes (or just a shirt) it then works. I have taken the top off and the copper brush is definatly touching the drum as it spins, the brown wire seems connected securly on both ends. Knowing that I was going to at least take the back off I pre-ordered new thermostats from shop@ and fitted those as well.

re-filling the drum of damp clothes it now works!!!!

If you run the machine empty on the sensor settings the heater will not come on for very long.

It works by sensing the conductivity through the damp washing, as it dries the conductivity of the load reduces. If there are no clothes in the drum there is no conductivity. 😉

I wasnt trying to run it empty!. I only tried running it with no clothes at after your reply as a test after it didnt run with a damp load.
