Some Bosch machines are cold fill as well as the cheap Neff machines from Moben, Magnet etc.

But all makes of machines can be used as cold fill only using a Y connector.

Nearly all the Zanussi jetsystems are cold fill, in particular ones with the electronic interface.

Thanks guys for the input. I would use a Y connector although all I have to work with is a cold fill hose that appears from under the floor in a porch! with no way to switch it off. So if I could find a cold fill W/D I can clamp the pipe and change the machine. Not ideal but the tenant is desperate for a new machine as she has been without for two weeks now.

    Hi Ally,
prepare your machine with Y piece & two hoses then do as you said clamping the incoming hose disconnect from old machine and then reconnect to third leg of y piece 💡

Of course in order to connect the two you will need a 3/4BSP-3/4BSP hose coupling as well!

The customer should be advised that the water supply should be turned off when the appliance is not being used in any case, the absence of an isolator tap is a disaster waiting to happen.

Advise the customer of this, note it on your invoice and get the customer to sign it as understood. Then when a hose bursts, as it will, you are in the clear and the landlord can pick up the bill for the damage.
