Hi there,
This is my first post on the forums, have been reading them for a while but I couldn’t find the info I was specifically wanting so I thought I would just ask 🙂
I have decided that I would like to purchase a SEBO for my new 1 bed flat (carpets throughout, except bathroom and kitchen).
I am unsure of which model to go for however. These are the ones I was looking at:
Felix
X4 Extra
K3 Vulcano
K3 Premium.I’m not overly concerned about price as I know you get what you pay for, although I have a big closet space saving is always nice and I don’t have any pets.
I have read that upright is best for carpets, but then I have heard lots of good things about the K3, I haven’t actually heard anything about the Felix so would like some advice on which model is best for my needs.

Sebo are well respected within the industry and on here as well. Good solid German machines with one of the best guarantees going.
I would have said on balance reading your post that the X4 upright would be the best option. Nice and easy to wizz around the flat and more importantly, less room is needed to store it when not in use.

Hi,
Don is spot on, I would have said the X4 as well. Cannot comment on the Felix, never seen or used one however knowing Sebo it will be nothing short of impressive. Upright or cylinders with the electric power head are better for carpetting as they beat out the dust and grit.
The X4 will clean hard floors too as it has a computer guided brush so always maintains perfect contact with any floor you wish to clean.
The K3 is also an excellent machine, I would srongly recommend going for the electric power head though, the best cylinders I have come across.
Overall with what you say about storage and flooring types you have for me the X4 is the winner.

I will now narrow down my choice to between the felix and the X4 🙂 depending on where I can get them from.

x4 more reliable than felix as felix has hose end issues (if you dont use crevice tool) and also switch issues if you regularly turn the brushroll on and off.
other than that the felix is lighter and more manouverable than x4 and has the hardfloor head. i still like the felix, just wish sebo road tested them more thouroughly before releasing it onto the public.

Well I know its much later but I just remembered about this post and how you guys asked me to get back in touch about which model I finally went for.
I chose the X4 in the end. I felt that this was the best choice as I have light coloured carpets in the flat.
I have found the hoover to be VERY good at ensuring the carpet is really clean and even makes if feel nicer to walk on. The hoover is pretty heavy and the hose attachement can be a bit awkward to use as the hoover tends to fall over a bit. However, I feel that its cleaning performance far outweighs these minor negative points.

Oh please don’t refer to your Sebo as “the hoover” but rather call it a ‘vacuum cleaner’ instead. The word hoover demeans the good name of Sebo.:wink::D

I bet Hoover love the publicity that people inadvertantly give them, I know of many people say they have a hoover and they really have a Dyson! 😛
No need to refer to it as a “vacuum cleaner” either, might as well call it a “Sebo” 😉 , give them some much needed publicity, the number of people that ask me what vacuum cleaner to buy and refuse to buy a Sebo because they haven’t heard of them is unbelieveable. The other reason is cost, they say why should I spend £250 on a vac when I can have one for £20, if you track inflation from 1979 when an Electrolux Z502 cost £80 how the hell can you make a good’un today for £20? There again keeps me in a job, so who am I to complain! 😀
