Hotpoint EW85 -replaced element oven still not working

The element in the fan oven has blown and been replaced on a number of previous occasions over the years and everything worked fine afterwards. This time though the element failed after sparking and although I’ve fitted a new one, when I turn on the oven and turn up the temp the circuit breaker is tripped. Rest of the appliance works fine. Is there a particular thermostat or switch that I can replace myself or is this a job for a pro?
