I’ve been away for almost 2 months….. then I make just one post in the general forum in reply to a trade members problems with bouncing cheques and the mods thread fires up again!

Talk about a bunch of school-kids talking behind someone’s back, what are you like? :rolls:

For god’s sake guys give me a break please!

    Yes truly missed.

I’ve never even looked at the ‘Mods’ section. You don’t think you’ve got it all wrong do you?
Maybe you’re adding 2 and 2 together and making 5.

    :?:.

    Re: The Martin Conundrum

There is a closed Forum for the use of the Mods and Admins. Leaving the Forum visible serves as a reminder to all that there is a small group working to try and keep everything working smoothly, fairly and within the site’s remit. Very, very little is actually moderated or even deleted apart from the constant stream of spamming attempts per day, most of which will not even be noticed by the average forum member.

“The Martin Conundrum” thread started off as a little bit of fun and has become the general chat thread in the Mods forum – I can say with complete honesty that Martin’s return was noticed and commented on due to his significant absence.

Whatever you’ve been up to, I hope you’ve enjoyed it, Martin. Care to share?

    Chris,
    P45.

(And yes, we can still remember how to be a bunch of kids occasionally.)

Needless to say I’m flattered, perhaps even humbled to some extent, that my presence warrants debate within the finely tuned moderators forum. Not knowing what’s been said behind closed doors is even more intriguing from my perspective and that by definition alone I could also describe it as being “a little bit of fun” that I too share with all you mods. Although I would hope with a greater degree of sincerity that the topic overall paints me in a positive way rather than toward the contrary. For if the latter were to be the case I really would like to be brought into the discussion if only to fight my corner so to speak…..whatever!8)

Well it’s been fun this last 2 months I can as least tell you that Chris but I’ll save the detail until later if that’s OK?

    Cheers!

    Re: The Martin Conundrum

I got banned on an expat site last week, seems that if you have an opinion beyond the general concensus your jumped on as being a troll, aparantly in that forum if enough people complain to the mods they prefer to eject the person for the “Good” of the site.

Although to have a disscussion full of one view and hundreds in agreemnet is very boring and unhealthy, sheep syndrome is great if their right, but when there obviously wrong it should not be deemed wrong to disagree.

I guess hits mean revenue, so people power prevails.

So sad, govt policy also seems to be going the same way, to question is wrong, we should all agree with each other, it will help make a peaceful world.

    😆

Blimey Lee, fancy that eh? Ah well I must say, to UKW’s credit, both the admin and moderators are far far more open-minded. Through certain, shall we say, ‘missunderstandings’ in the past I too have been branded a troll believe it or not! These days however it’s good to realise how tolerant UKW has become in taking in all the diverse opinions and viewpoints and thereby creating a broader picture of the trade so to speak. Today I’m chuffed to learn that I have been downgraded from troll to an enigma. Another credit to UKW I reckon. 😉

    Keep smilin’

I like being proved wrong by intelligent disscussion. 😉
