    Hi All,

    My neighbour has asked me to look at their Hotpoint CTD00 dryer as it creates quite a noise when operating.
    The fault is the whole dryer seems to have excessive vibration. We have a CTD80 which is very quiet so I swapped the front blower fan and rear fan to hopefully eliminate the noise….unfortunately no difference.
    The the original fans replaced I ordered a bearing kit which is now fitted including the 4 front plastic bearing guides…..switched on…no change still vibrating. before changing the rear bearing and shaft I checked the play of the new ones and have to say I couldnt see any difference but replaced anyway.
    Is there anything else that I can look for as its driving me barmy!!!

    thanks

    sadly not, I changed the 4 bearing guides/pads located at the front…I guess this must be a later machine?

    So to recap on parts replaced;
    – front nylon bearing guides/pads
    – rear shaft and bearing
    – front impeller fan
    – rear fan blade
    – rear drum seal

    when assembled you can hold the top of the machine and feel the vibrations through the case.
    Ive even tried lifting the machine and/or placing on card or an old piece of material….all without change?
