ParticipantHi All
I recently dismounted the control unit on a Hoover 1300 Special Edition Washing Machine Model Number CA230 (The dial that sets the wash program). I took photos and removed the three parts that make up the knob, then took off the control unit – looked it over and then reassembled it all – I dont think that I disturbed the splined shaft of the control unit itself.
On reassembling it all I found that I had somehow got it so that the setting was indicated at 9 o’clock instead of 12 o’clock!!
What went wrong? The knob part with the numbers on can only connect to the next part one way as it is ‘keyed’ – the same applies to the location of the second part onto the cam part of the knob.
OK so the cam part fits onto the control unit with a 4 spline shaft so in theory I could just rotate the knob by one spline – but this spoils the cam setting according to my photos.
Some questions:
1. If I start again how do I assmble everything so that all is correct?
2. Where can I find any documentation that tells me how to do it?
Unrelated Questions:3. There is a resistance of about 10M ohms from either L or N to earth when the machine is switched on – is this correct? Does this resistance consitute a ‘bleed’ for the mains capacitive filter? (That first thing that the mains leads meet – metal tube thing)
4. Has anyone got a circuit diagram of this beast?
Hope someone can help!!

Hi Helo_75
Do you mean the screws holding the control unit to the front panel?
If so then I did. I’m sure because all the wiring connections are made on each side so if I had got that 90 degrees out they would all have been sticking up (and down) and I wouldn’t have got the lid on! Also the wiring loom would have been really tight.
Thanks for replying! All suggestions welcome! -
