ParticipantFirst poster so please be gentle with me!
I had a split on the waste hose but when I replaced this I found I still had a leak underneath. After much grovelling underneath I have removed most of screws from the side panel and pulled out a little and can see the water enters the fill matrix and straight away drops down into the sump/salt chamber, leaking where there appears to be no gasket at the joint. Should there be a seal there that has failed?
Any help would be appreciated. Wifey wants me to dump it and buy a new one but I am against waste and I don’t want to throw the machine if I can fix this cost effectively.
thanks
Mark

From memory…
There are a couple of “O” rings where the matrix joins at the bottom – these do weep occasionally. A strip and clean will often do the trick – the “O” rings are available as a spare part – I’ll post a part number for you when I manage to find my tech disc. :rolls:

Thanks Penguin, if these are Smeg parts do you know if they will take 10 days to get here like the hose did as I am pressured to get the d/w working by next weekend; or can I get them quicker through the UKW shop?
Just taken another look and I can’t see how to separate matrix from sump – does matrix lift or sump lower (or both? if so which would be easier)

Grrr – can’t find a part number. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will usually source through a wholesaler if they hold the parts – much quicker. I can only suggest that you drop them an email – their technical info is far more complete than mine.

Thanks guys, I tried separating matrix/sump without much luck and am giving in and calling in the local UKW tradesman tomorrow. He only lives down the road.
Thanks again
