ParticipantThe dryer has been making some funny noises for a few weeks, and last night stopped spinning.
I have removed the back cover, and there was a lot of black dust, so I am assuming a bearing has failed.
Where is the best place to order one from and how easy is it to replace?
We have 4 kids, so it is in constant use, and has already been repaired last year, however to save money, we cancelled the insurance a few months ago, sods law.
or am I better just getting a more reliable model?
Thanks

THIS kit will have all the parts you need.
You also need to remove the mains plug and take off the top to see if the belt has snapped. Not the easiest repair to do and yes you would be better off buying a more reliable machine. 😉

Zanussi are not bad at the middle end of the market. ISE or Miele at the top end.

Hi
Depends on budget really. A good value vented dryer which is easy and relativeley inexpensive to repair would be the White Knight 44AW, price wise around £150.
Another good choice would be one of the Zanussi`s, the ZDE47100 a much more solid machine price around the £190 mark.
Whirlpool also produce a good solid unit in the AWZ3303 also around the £200 area, however the parts a more expensive than the other two.
If you can go to it the ISE DV60W Vented dryer is a machine like no other out there, they are a well designed machine, extremely well built and have a full ten year warranty. Not the cheapest dryer out there granted, however with it`s ten year warranty it`s a very sound investment, should a repair be required, service is provided locally, probably by the same engineer who installed it.
