    CANDY GRANDO GO1482 80

    SERIAL NO 31001954 0735 8209

hi this machine tripped the power during a spin cycle upon resetting the mcb the machine does not work.

the programme selects correctly then when you push start the door lock light flashes continually

i assume the pcb locks the door then get a signal back it is locked this seems ok

otherwise the machine just sits there no water fill or motor action

The brushes and motor are ok (removed and checked)

solenoids test ok wiring seems intact also

The pump motor is ok (checked this just in case the pcb needed to “see” the pump before filling)

checked the level sensor by gently blowing in it (clicks once)

the pcb looks ok no burning or track damage

suspect it is the main pcb if so does a new pcb require programming ?? and can i do it

oh and thanks for an excelent forum still got my dishwasher going because of you guys 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

    Re: candy go 1482

If it tripped on spin, the usual scenario goes like this:

Partial filter/drain blockage – machine empties slowly, water level control tells the pcb that the machine is empty, so spin commences. It can’t clear the water fast enough, the effect is the same as driving your car with the brakes on. Drive motor gets hot very quickly, so the internal TOC will trip out, or the motor will spike to earth. Either or both can blow the pcb.

    Checks required:

    Filter.
    Pump motor for resistance.
Earth leakage on motor – Meggar required.

If they check out, there is only the pcb left. They are available pre-programmed, but be very sure that this is what you want – they aren’t cheap and a damage motor will blow it again in short order.

    Power off before checking anything.

thanks will check the pump for partial blockage and resistance

already done an insulation test on drum motor with a 500v megger it was practically infinity (disconected plug from back of motor to do this so as not to damage pcb

    will keep you informed

thanks for the input the scenario fits perfect
