When struggling to fit a tumble dryer belt around the drum and through the pulleys, especially in a confined space, lay the belt around the drum and into the track marks, then tape it there, preferably at the 12 o’clock position. You can then roll around the floor, swearing away, in the full (and happy) knowledge that the belt isn’t going to drop down the back of the drum.
Remove tape before operating.
