    Hi all,

Could do with some help please. I have ordered up the appropriate stat from whitegoods and will be able to fit it myself ok if one of you kind folks can point me in the right direction regarding what’s actually involved in fitting. Model is Electrolux ER8126B fridge freezer (fridge on top) which is overcooling the fridge but which seems to sort itself out if I ‘fiddle’ with the stat. Many thanks for any fitting tips. Cheers, Bill

Presuming it’s a mechanical stat and not an electronic version.
tep by step& one by one as far as connections go.
The sensing phial is a tube and does not like being sharply bent, especially if you try and straighten it out after bending it,it quite easily breaks so gentle hands and easy bends.

Thanks for the advice. I changed the stat ok but unfortunately that didn’t fix the problem – it is still (almost) constantly running (with associated gurgling noises) and overcooling (freezing) the fridge section. Thought the stat was playing up because if I moved it about a bit the back of the fridge would then defrost. On reflection, I think the cutout was probably kicking in and switching the system off for a while. Time to think of a new one I think. Cheers anyway. Bill.
