KeymasterNo.
It’s proved hard to get at times. It’s hassle. And, importantly, it makes the job take a LOT longer therefore, if anyone wants that additional service it carries a hefty premium.
Fine on commercial, not worth it IMO for domestic given the low value of the cabinets.
I am not aware of any legislation that requires it so I’d ask TS for a steer on where that is. 😉

Hi
The use of nitrogen being blown through the system is to stop the risk of an explosion when a welding torch or blow lamp is used.
Samsungs blow up with with just spark from a switch or short.Mike

Don’t regas domestic now but always used nitrogen when we did and I have to say it was more succesful with than without, less system blockages but yes it does take MUCH longer.

Always try to use it,pressure test with it for leaks and use it for triple evacuation. Also prevents oxidisation on internal pipeworks, some pot’s which have failed U/G have been returned as failed claims because of copper oxide(black scale) sediment in compressor when OFN hasn’t been used.mostly do small commercial stuff but do use it on domestic too.
Not that dear if you are using it a couple of time a week and is factored in to process charge plus handy for blowing out condensers.
Did my full F gas last year and you have to pressure test with nitrogen as part of the course/test.
It’s not written in stone that it must be used but is worded something like under health and safety the risk assesment must ensure all necessary safety precautions have been taken.
Probably wouldn’t be a problemnot using it until health and Safety were involved.February 24, 2010 at 8:10 pm #312953bigchrisoioi

do use it for blockages , however you need to cut suction line else you risk blowing the evaporator…..on service calls, its a hassle with a heavy bottle esp in inner london postcodes where parking is not close to call…to be honest , not sure if it is that effective with foamed in evaporators and capillaries…!

Dont use it..as long as the drier is cut then you have a clear system..you’d never get the correct mixture for any explosion, yes you would get a flame if you put a lighted flame next to pipework thats still under pressure.
the samsungs dont just go bang through a spark from a light switch..any refrigeration could go bang if it shorts which several manufacturers have if they was honest and was truthful about it..
