Participantthis machine is doing my head in!the original fault was the door had to be slammed to start so i went and the door shuts but sort of just pushed up no definite connection.checked the lock and handle assy nothing wrong so i thought i would try a new i/lock on but it was still the same.Ok I thought it has to be the pecker assy so ordered and fit and guess what still the same.
Has anyone had this before as it is baffling me there are only 2 parts and i have changed both it is as if the pecker is too big 😀 .914600532-00

ParticipantRe: zan zwd1261w
normally find the door lock pin has moved and not central in the door inner mounting causing a e40/e41 diagnostic code!….splitting the door and pushing the pin back in normally sorts it…….is there a code in diagnostics?

everything is sitting fine and there is no fault code showing.if you bang the door shut it starts and the hinge aint bent.

i removed the lip of the gasket and folded it inside and still the same this one is really baffling me know, the only thing i can think of is if the machine was a recon as it is in a let property then could have the wrong stickers on>

“Pecker assy”??? Since when have Zanussi W/d’s had them? 😕
Normally either the door interlock or the mains on/off switch give symptoms such as you describe but a “pecker” (Hotpoint/Hoover phraseology in my book) has me foxed. 🙁
But if by pecker you mean door hook then before you mess with that why not operate the interlock mechanically with a screwdriver to see if electrically it locks and the machine fires up otherwise you could be barking up the wrong tree?

Don’t you find that technique doesn’t seem to work too well with Zanussi,
Martin? It always seems to me that the positioning of everything has to be exact, otherwise it’s no go.
