KeymasterI have today asked that dave been officially given the task of editing orbit for 3 months by the officers.
That gives dave remit to get on and do it, however the officers will want to see a proof b4 publihing. To save cost we should only do orbit by email for the next three months, and also daves time.
The 3 month period will allow us all to take stock and to sort out a job description etc for the right man /woman to move dasa forwards. Orbit is essential to the communication of Dasa and if Dave asks you to help please do.
If you have ideas for the content of orbit then email it to dave,I have already let Tony Brown of MFI know of its reintroduction and we generally could do with our first edition by the 15/4/04, which will show we are serious about this whole project.
I have suggested to scogs that he writes the front page of orbit as chairman of dasa to explain WHY we have taken the decisions we have with the direction of dasa.
I will do an article on network dasa and will illustrate the point of WHATS IN IT FOR ME,
Please spread the word if any one wants to receive orbit then they should email their address to Scottregards
ted
PS in here cause I want you to know without telling all in sundrey.

KeymasterWhat about approaching other manufacturers or WP for their input ..
What do you all think?March 27, 2004 at 12:02 pm #110332kwatt
KeymasterRe: ORBIT
The re-introduction of Orbit is absolutely essential if DASA is to survive, in fact it’s more than essential, it’s absolutely critical. I cannot stress enough how important that this is but the first issue of Orbit can also be used as a tool or vehicle for a resurgence in DASA membership if you play it smart.
Get the first issue done properly, spend the money getting it printed, I’ll do it and lay it out using a DTP package if you want for publication but get it out not just to members but also to ones that have dropped off! That makes the re-introduction and Mark’s comments reach as wide an audience as possible, the article can be mirrored on UKW as well and get the maximum exposure possible from the events.
I have a few more tricks along that train of thought but I’ll just get on with it as it’s also UKW related. 😉
This could be the most critical thing that DASA has done in years as it wil be the first impression of the “New DASA” that the trade gets, so we’d better make it a good ‘un.
As for the manufacturers, yes CDA and MFI would be my first stop for some comments on it.

The more info the better !!
Do you think we might approach Tony Brown to do a little piece on how he has found DASA helpful in assisting him to complete his network requirements and how helpful he found addressing the DASA AGM to explain MFI’S service plans to the independant trade.
Perhaps Paul Greenberg of EAC could be called upon to submitt somthing along a similar lines.
Just a thought.Regards Del

what about something along the lines of a flyer sheet the type that electure use to promote thier latest offers perhaps Dave Parker would lend a hand after all he wants his heads of agreement document approved and that could be another item for inclusion in Orbits first edition under STOP PRESS.

KeymasterThat would be a good idea Del, orginally Connect where to distribute orbit for Dasa on the understanding they could send fliers with it. I m sure if we asked they would jump at the chance.
Go for it .

Are certain officers (one in particular) making it deliberately difficult to arrange the distribution of Orbit ?
Not seen/read
😕
It was sent to everyone involved well over a month ago 👿
Its suitability of content before distribution.
So why is it available for download on dasanet the very same day it was downloaded from UKW ?
Sour grapes methinks. 👿

KeymasterDave Parker spoke to me on Monday and has still not heard anything or been supplied anything to distribute…. he was going to ring Del to find out what was happening.

That’s utter bollocks, I spoke to Dave back in May, he asked me to mail him a copy which I did and I recieved a “read” notification also.
I fucking give up 👿

KeymasterHence the reason I’m absolutely seething about this and Scott’s attitude, as well as blabbering on about getting council approval, we KNOW everyone got the thing but now it appears they “didn’t get it” all of a sudden. So, after all the work we put into getting Orbit done, it gets fucked about from pillar to post for two months and then no fucker ever got it!!!
I agree with Dave, I give up.
