Hi all, I have a hotpoint WT540 that’s about 4yrs old now, have had 1 issue with it in the past but quite easily solved by myself and has been great ever since.

Just today though it has gotten to the final stages of the wash, attempted to enter final spin and stopped, it’s trying to pump out but there is no sign of it spinning. The LED’s Power (Flashing quite rapidly) and mini load (Approx once per second).

I have done a little research and not really found the answer I’m looking for, most places are saying it’s the PCB, so I have pulled that out, disconnected it completely, left it 5mins and re-attached it all, now it is attempting to spin, it will occassionally spin slowly but won’t pick up full rev’s .

I have noticed there is a covered connection to the back of the PCB which looks to be somewhere an engineer could plug something in, is this something I could use to my advantage (Reset the PCB maybe?)

    Many thanks for reading
    Wayne :rolls:

    unfortunately not

it would appear the pcb is faulty
    have you checked the pump?
the service hole is for hotpoint.comet engineers to attatch their laptops , fault find and reprogramming

the general public have little or no access to the correct equipment

to help correctly, from top to bottom, the top light being 1, which light is flashing? ( i.e light 4)
    and we can advise better
    thanks

Touch wood it does appear to be working alright right now, but I will keep looking for answers just in case it returns. I have read that a way to reset the machine / pcb is to press & hold the start / cancel button until all lights illuminate, then release and press & hold start / cancel & on / off simultaniously for 5 secs, I done that and it appears to be ok, spinning at full speed etc.

Anyway Helo_75: To answer your question, it’s the power light and the 4th light from the top.

    Regards

as i suspected, its a heater relay problem

it will re-occur, its just a matter of when, rather than if

especially when the machine is fully loaded

    good luck

What can be done about that Helo? Is that going to need replacing? If so where abouts would I find it, what does it look like and is it reasonably priced?

By relay, I assume you mean an electronic really (Kinda like a fuse but not) and cost around £2-3.

Again though, where would I find it on the machine….

    Thanks again.

    its on the pcb itself

indesit/hotpoint do not sell the relay as a serviceable item

it all dependes how good you are, and how comfortable you are with electronics…

the CORRECT thing to do is to change the pcb and programme it with a laptop

OR send it to http://emwelec.co.uk/ who can repair it fior you

its not a cheap repair and are notoriously unreliable

theres one trader on here who will no longer repair f8 faults

im sure hell be along shortly
