Hi there, I currently have a Whirlpool ADG332 Dishwasher, this is a WHITE version.
I am wanting to replace the top section of this dishwasher, the handle and the knobs with a chrome/stainless version.
Does anyone know where these can be bought from?
I’ve tried Whirpool and they were hopeless. They said they couldn’t guarantee if I ordered parts from them that they would be the right one’s and if they were wrong they wouldn’t take them back. They also said that their parts photos were black and white so didn’t know if the parts I had in mind were chrome or not!!!!!!!
Can you believe them – after all, I’m only trying to spend MONEY with them!
Can anyone help – any idea’s who I can call, where if anywhere I can reference the right part nos.

Hi David,
One of the Whirlpool guys will probably be able to help you better but I can tell you what the problem is there. Basically, when we see a parts diagram it is a composite line diagram, generally used on an entire range of models with only the parts for a specific model being listed. The downside of this of course is that if you deviate from the model number given there is a very real danger that you’ll end up with the wrong spares. The model number will almost certainly change with a different colour and that’s why you have the problem.
On the service side we very, very rarely actually see a photograph of the appliance, it’s usually just a composite line drawing.
And of course we have the same problem as customers do, if we get the wrong part but it’s correctly ordered then we cannot return it as a general rule!

I understand that totally, the car spares market is the same with exploded line art diagrams of parts in black and white PDF’s.
My issue is, this dishwasher (as far as I remember) was available in white, brown and Stainless, – white being denoted by WH at the end of the Model Number.
Surely then if I quote ADG332SS instead of ADG332WH then I will get the right parts for the Stainless version?
This shouldn’t be this difficult 🙁

Not always as there is, just like the car spares market, that old bugbear of the serial number and production changes to consider. I know from experience ordering spares and, not just Whirlpool but they are known for it, that without the serial number or the GB number or whatever it is they want you’ve no chance! Same thing applies to virtually any German appliance known to man! 😕
In the trade we suffer exactly the same problem you’re having a fair bit, especially with cosmetic spares.
It may be possible, but you’ll have to wait for one of the Whirlpool guys or a spares retailer/distributor to answer the question properly. They will read this and look at it for you.

I did, and there were three versions of this model made with suffix’s WH, obviously white, AV which is brown and IX which is the stainless version.
I have looked up the equivelent IX parts as follows:
Facia panel £64.00
Knob £11.19
Handle insert £32.71
Small button at 2’o clock to the main knob £11.19 (this is only showing in white)The above are retail prices from Whirlpool and include VAT.
If you want to order them let me know by email or pm, BUT as stated I can make no guarantee that the parts haven’t been superseded, as manufacturers are only obliged to supply a “suitable” replacement and suitable means that it will fit physically only. Though from experience Whirlpool will almost certainly supply the correct colours.

hi,
if you are able to view this appliance in your local store then obtain the 12 nc number from the appliance.
With this number I can order the parts you require and delivery is usually 4 days from Italy.
If the parts are incorrect I will accept them back as long as you accept the postage to return to me and they arrive in saleable condition.
The 12 nc number is located on a lable on the inner edge of the door usually left hand side
