    Good people, apologies if this has been answered in a different post. I have a Whirlpool side-by-side fridge freezer bought in 2005. The internal contol started clicking and flashing about 6month ago but worked until last sunday when it showed a red warning sign on the control panel and switched itself into standby with two dots on the LED display panel. It won’t come on when i press the power on button- just flashes and then goes back to two dots. I’m at a loss as to what could be the problem. Would changing the pcb in the rear resolve the issue?

    Thanks very much spimps. I’m removing the rear board this morning to try the capacitor repair mentioned here on this brilliant forum as this fridge freezer couldn’t have gone on the blink at the worst possible time when money is an absolute rarity for me.

    I’ll post the outcome here, but any more ideas from anyone who’s experienced similar issues will also be much appreciated.
