ParticipantI have a Bosch Exxcel 1200 express (model WFO2465GB/01). It has been working fine for some years, but the other day it just stopped 10 minutes into a normal cycle.
Nothing appears on the LCD screen when you turn the knobs or press any buttons. My immediate thought was that the fuse in the plug had blown, but changing it made no difference. Connecting the plug to a known working socket also made no difference.
Any ideas on the likely cause? Is it something easily fixable, or an expensive repair, or would it be cheaper to get a new washing machine?
Thanks and regards,

Most likely cause is door interlock or on/off button gone – which could have also damaged the PCB. 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of time it will be interlock – BUT it could be loads of components. Best to get an engineer out for this as they will have the spare parts to try without costing you P&P each time. Plus they will possibly work on machine live with multimeter to determine problem which isn’t recommended unless you know what you are doing.

Odom – UKW will not recommend, condone or promote live testing to anyone, be they a repairer or a member of the public. It is virtually unneccessary in most circumstances and potentially lethally dangerous.
The posters problem is possibly the door lock; a failed heater or motor flashing back to the pcb will cause the same problem. Motor and heater can be tested with a meter – any damage to the pcb is usually obvious as the tracks will blow off it.

Thanks for the information. So if it is an electrical problem, how expensive is it likely to be to fix up? Are the parts expensive, or would the expensive part be diagnosing the problem part?
Thanks a lot,
