    Hi,
Hoping someone may have had a similar problem and can help advise me how to sort etc.

I have the above washer dryer and until recently worked fine. I have had previous faults but managed to fix these.

One persistant fault I have is that the machine takes an age to start – sometimes it will start right away, other times I have had to have it on for a few days before it kicked in – does anyone know what type of fault this is?

My main fault, which is the new one…..the water does not heat and neither does the dryer. I have replaced the thermostats (which was a waste of time as the old ones were fine) I have used a continuity meter and tested the thermostats and the heating element – both work fine. Could the fault lie with the circuit board??

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Yes the PCB can cause a no heat fault, but resist the temptation to keep throwing new parts at the machine. It could be an earth leak; a continuity multimeter will not find it. You must have an insulation meter that tests 500V to proceed any further.

    hi,
thanks for the response. I made a slight boo boo on my diagnostic. the tumber dryer section works fine (i found that out to my dismay when i burnt myself – school boy error)

how serious a fault is an earth leak – is the machine economically repairable? and if so any guestime on repair costs.

    Again, thanks for your help.
