ParticipantWas called out to a bosch tumble dryer that was not drying. Checked thermostats and element and these were fine. Tested the machine with the element cover off and the element would heat for 4 or 5 seconds then go off for about 15 seconds and continue doing this. The customer also said that the clean filter light kept coming on even though it was clean.
Any ideas? Many thanksMarch 16, 2010 at 12:43 pm #315163Martin

Well you were close at least. 😉
In fact the full E Nr is WTA3606GB/01 and that is a ‘sensor dryer’ and a sensor dryer only heats when the sensor tells it to. So it’s important to test this type of dryer with some damp clothing in the drum otherwise the effect you have experienced will happen.
The ‘clean filter’ led operates via the front duct NTC, so if the airflow is restricted in some way? Usually a good clean out of the fan housing, front duct and make sure the vent hose isn’t restricted or the outside grill blocked with fluff. And all that good stuff should sort it.

Well strikes me if the TOC on the heater box hasn’t tripped and stuff like that you’re gonna have to test the resistance of both the heater box NTC and the exhaust NTC in the front cowl. Plus take a close visual on the main board as the relay may be stuffed? 🙁
