    Hello,

I have just refitted a Smeg DWD64 BL. When I try to run any programme, I can hear the pump running to pump away any remaining water but the machine won’t fill with water however long I leave it (the inlet hose is fitted and working correctly). Whilst the machine was out of action it was layed on its side during transportation – might this have caused water to get into the pressure switch?

    Any advice gratefully accepted.

    Mike

Sorry, should have said – this is a built in dishwasher.

    Hi Mike,

IT could be a valve fault, fill chamber or a couple of other things. To be honest if you’re not sure I’d advise an engineer for the appliance.

Transporting the machine on its side shouldn’t have caused anything untoward to happen but, stranger things, as they say. 😉

    Hi Mike,

Sounds like the base safety switch has been operated, the operation of this safety switch keeps the drain pump going all the time. You have to find out what has caused this switch to operate, it could even be broken and in a position of permanent operation.
