ParticipantHi I am looking at getting one of these trolleys that go up stairs. Most of the ones I have seen have 3 wheels on the back.
Just looking on Machinemart and came across this.
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/produ … air-climbe
Has anyone used one of these or know how they work, or would I be better off with the 3 wheel type.
Cheers

I Tried the three wheel type.I didnt like it
1 Too heavy
2 Took up too much room
3 Found it easier with a normal sack truck.March 18, 2010 at 7:40 pm #315477spimps

I tried one, paid getting on for £180 10 years ago, went down one set of stairs too quickly for me 😯
Got rid, agree very heavy and cumbersome, prefer the pneumatic tyres with not too much air in.March 20, 2010 at 4:31 am #315478LJDomestics

Thanks, I did think the height could be a problem.
I think I will look at just the 3 wheel type, unless anyone knows of anything else that is better?
Cheers

ParticipantRe: Stair trolley/truck
wefve got the qualtex one.
3 issues so far:
doesnt like turning. hard enough with a washer on it but anything really weighty ( eg smeg 70cm range ) it just feels like its gonna bend the wheels over
the “L” part is beamed all the way around, rather than having a flat suport liek many other sack trucks. this doesnt sound liek much but is actually a major pain when you have to tilt the machines an awfully long way forwards to get it even halfway under…
the lifter support wont stay in an upright position if you leave it standing vertically. and can crash down if you forget.
however on the plus side best feature ive found with the 3 wheeler, because it wont steer, if your going over rough/uneven tarmac it almost acts as suspension, and doesnt bounce and tip about like nu-tyres… so its ideal for tall things

I got the qualtex one
I found it awkward to use, after 3 uses went around a bend and one of the wheels broke and almost had the machine in the gutter, I felt very embarrased as customer was watching me,
now just sitting in the garage taking up valuable space (not me the trolley)
I must get round to contacting qualtex about it 😐Toni
