Participanthi any help would be appreciated.
my dishwasher was getting stuck on a cycle occasionally and then one day tripped the main house fuse box. when re sett the machine was stuck on a drain cycle which would appear to be as a result of the float swith being activated due to a water leak. on examination a pipe had come off the bottom of the sump. when re assembled it now gets stuck on a cycle and the water doesnt heat. ive checked the pcb board and relays which seem tro be fine. theres no resisstance between the coils of the heater which indicates the heater is no longer working. would this have been as a result of the initial problem with the pipe?? do i spend £50 and replace the heater or is it not worth the bother or risk that there is another fault. my wife thinks im nuts and should just go out and buy another but i cant justify the waste and land fill, your suggestions would be met with thanks, matthew

Heater is an immersion type – if it was on when the leak occured, it will fuse in seconds.

it reads continuety between the coils, no ressistance, this in my mind means dead. cant understand why the engineer says its fine and problems lies with pcb hes got nothing to gain am i testing it right or just going crazy?? or stupid??

What are you testing it with? A meter with a scale is the only way to deduce whether or not the heater works.
