ParticipantHi, I had a strange noise as soon as I turned the machine on for a few seconds then again the noise at the end. I thought it could be the drain pump so took the back cover off and it does sound like its coming from the pump. I took the pump out and have cleaned it as it had a lot of limescale etc inside and refitted it. The pump seemed very easy to take out and put back again as it seemed to just slot into 2 holes (plastic tabs on body of pump) and slide in. Is this correct? I also found a cast bracket just lying on the bottom of the machine which no idea where it comes from. Its just under 4″ in length and has 1614200100. Anyone one got any ideas?

Can you post a picture of the part, thats not a recognised part number. Has it got any holes for screws or similar in it?
Pump does just clip in, if it is still noisy then its time for a new pump, not expensive.

Hi the pump seems to be quiet now so fingers crossed. As to the bracket, is there some instructions on here on how to post a photo and I’ll do it.

The only way to post a pic is to host it on something like imageshack, photobucket or similar then paste the url between image tags or copy the link provided by the image hosting site.

I have edited the tags to get it to work, you need
after on both links.
Has the door hinge been changed at any time, thats the bracket that the two screws holding the hinge screw into. If the door is secure then that may have dropped into the base during production, its a spare. 😀

😀 Hey thats great news. The door is secure and the original noise has gone so looks like once again UK Whitegoods has saved the day. Thx again!
