Hi, I was recently informed that our DC14 Animal has been making a horrible smell lately. My OH has used it a few times like this.
I took it apart today and the carbon brushes are very worn in fact I found a piece of carbon burnt into the post motor filter.
I have looked and found the brushes for sale but they come as just brushes with wires and springs, they say you have to reuse the holders.

My question; how do you attach the wire to the brush holder ??

    Thanks
    Mark…

Ouch…!! Sounds like the armature maybe has burnt out?

So do you think it’s new motor time rather than brushes then ??
