Just fitting a new hob element in my very old Creda cooker.
Where the element is mounted, is a piece of card which I am assuming protects the wire coverings of the connectors that power it.
As I went to pull the clips of the old element, the card disintegrated and fell off.

First, what is the card made of, I assume some kind of fibre glass?
Second, where can I get a replacement sheet of it?

    Cheers

Anyone know what the insulation pads are made of so I could make my own?
