This should have been a simple job in a large accountancy/business centre- not puming out.

removed pump – clear, removed LH panel- blockage in water matrix – paper clips – yes paper clips, glass and grape stems (100s of em).

Re-fit test – minute amount of water coming out. It just wasn’t coming from the sump into the matrix. Strip remove sump/matrix hose, check non return valve/chamber – all clear.

    Actual drain hose clear.

    Re-test no difference.

Had a spare pump but it was an old used one, a little better but still timing out on drain.

This is a very simple DWmushroom valve/plastic base – pulling me hair out- ran out of time and patience.

Busiest I’ve been in months so don’t need simple jobs holding me up especially as this one is at the edge of my patch.

    am I missing something obvious..???

Just a thought. Does this one have the little plastic cover (600949) over the impellor which anyone (e.g. office worker) can remove with one t20 torx screw? And then they forgot to put it back or didn’t do it properly?

nah, much cheaper version with cheapo, plastic base, give me a mo to check…….. ermmm having just checked the bsh site, i’m now not too sure. (was consious about puting all the filters back before testing)

thought it was only more expensive models had this, torx screw to removecurved impellor cover job. Remove to access non return valve. Steel base with plastic around filter area????

    However looking at the diagrame….

    page four item 522.

Filters were all stripped by the part time office handy man. who was out….

There is a cover in the sump area for the drain pump impellor access. It doesn’t have a torx20 screw but just ‘clips’ in. If this is missing or loose then it could cause the slow/no drain fault

    Thanks leavemetogetonwithit & nomadPaul.

You were both correct – handy man had it in tool box for safe keeping….

Thanks fellas – have beer on me

    Saved me a journey 😀 😀 😀

At least some thing is going right today, missed an appointment while stuck in traffic…..
