The fan and associated element on my Delonghi ES1601W cooker have simultaneously just stopped working. Can anyone kindly advise if these are wired in series, i.e. if the element has failed will this also stop the fan from working. Or could it be the thermostat has failed? Or all three!
The element and fan spares appear to be available to order online, and I am confident to carry out such a repair, but would appreciate any advice or insight on this matter. Although we have had this cooker for years it has given good service, and my wife actually prefers fixing it as she likes the cooker, rather than buying a new one. Many thanks
If there’s a timer on the cooker make sure it’s set to manual. It could be the thermostat but there are other possibilities like a burnt out wire somewhere. The thermostat operates like a switch so it’s continuity can be checked using a multimeter set to a low ohms range.

😀 Thanks, a total solution to the ‘problem’! The analogue timer, (not used for years) had inadvertently been knocked and was on timed, switching back to Manual and bingo, oven and fan working again.
Now I feel like a total idiot, but thank you very much again for posting your reply, which has saved me much time and expense.
