I have just discovered that one of the lifters has broken off the drum, which in itself is not a problem as I have changed them before. The real problem is, that it would appear that something like a coin or other similar object has fallen between the two drums which, when the machine enters it’s spin, rattles around making such a racket that it sounds like the drum is going to explode.

How easy is it to get at the access between the inner and outer drum so I can have a look at what fallen between them?

I am pretty proficient with tools as I am a service engineer by trade, so if it’s something I could have a go at then i would like to at least try.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Deleted the other post in Dishwasher forum. 😉

Most of the time you can see the objects with a lifter removed or get
them out of the main sump hose at the back.

I was very lucky yesterday and managed to retrieve a very large metal washer that was rolling around between the very front of the inner and outer drum. It was too big to slip under the drum and my long thin magnet fished it out.

If you cannot get them out that way then its drum removal time. Not the easiest of jobs. Whole drum out through front of machine and then split the drum.

well, ud normally look through the holes that are
left when the lifter isnt in place first!

then u can try lookin through the heater hole, failing that, its a drum stripdown

Thanks for the advice guys, I will have a good look round the opening from the lifter and if that fails, I will be back for drum removal advice.

    Cheers
