ParticipantHi, My first post so be gentle!
My Creda collection c366e oven element blew last week, straight away I noticed that the circ fan stayed on when the door was open but the fan did slow down? I have replaced the element but I get no heat, the fan problem is still there, the fan still slows down when operating the door switch so that tells me the switch is ok. The stat lights up and clicks on/off, the timer seems to work ok and it is in manual.
Any ideas??
Also if it ends up being the stat how the hell do you remove the control panel to get at it!!

Its possible that if the element failed in a big way it could also have taken out the stat or even damaged the main control unit. Access is not easy, both sides off, all knobs & buttons off, then hob has to be released and lifted out of the way, all with the mains isolated of course. 😉
Fan slowing down would not stop it heating but could affect performance.

Thanks for the reply, yes I’m thinking its taken something else out when it went, the fan used to switch off completely when the door was open so I’m thinking whatever controls the fan and the element is at fault, I’m guessing the stat but don’t know if anything else is in there that may affect it, a lack of wiring diagrams doesn’t help!

It could be the selector switch or the stat.
You would have to give us the full model number and even more important, full serial number, is the model number C366EK, EKH, ES, ESH, EW, or EWH. Different oven stats used some with a selector switch, some without.

Hi, just checked the numbers, most of them are rubbed off 😡 however these are the bits I can make out
Model c366??H
Serial 33 1 00288 (the 1 is questionable)Just to re-iterate, the fan slows when the door is opened (about half speed) but it should actually stop, hopefully this may point or give a clue to what is the main problem ( no power to the element)
Thanks

The good news is that if model number ends in H then it does not have a separate selector switch.
Thermostat is HERE
