Got one of these tomorrow. No heat fault.
Will check for obvious/usual possible board faults. If board is ok can you test the heater from the PCB with out dragging the the thing out as you can on earlier Lux stuff??.Why can’t they use the external heaters, much easier to change!!!!!
thanks

Don’t know if it’s same but went to ESL4114 yesterday (slimline) and it had an electromechanical timer. Probably could get wiring diagram off Connect. That one was blowing trip and turned out to be heater dead short to earth. Not that difficult to get plug out, once rhs from fr panel off, and as you’re probably going to have to change heater anyway, might as well drag it out now and leave it loose till you have part. I think plastic base may unclip too but was in hurry so didn’t check closely. The worst was getting decor door off – IIRC it was six of the torx t10 door panel screws holding it on.

You can get the live off the pcb and the neutral off the p/sw.

you can check heater resistance accross A1 and C5 on the PCB ..should be about 25ohms ish…..this checks the complete heater circuit…..takes only 3-4 mins without draaging machine out…if you have the circuit, change the PCB,,,,,
A1 is the big relay terminal and C5 is the next small cable block to the left….i go accross all the terminals until i find the circuit as C5 is not always marked
MAKE SURE A1 IS NOT DISTORTED , BURNT OR BULGING…IF IT IS YOU NEED TO REPLACE CONNECTOR!!
hope it helps, Chris

Cheers Chris, had to re-schedule, awaiting spares for second job at same house, so new info will be useful. Will get back and let you know how I get on…. still hate integrated appliances I just know I’m going to have have this buggar out… never mind, tother job is supply and fit oven shelf and grill pan handle – now that’s my kinda job 😀

Hi Folks,
Eventually got to this one. Albeit very late on a Friday. Heater terminals were A1 and D3 I think, (have to dig out the piccie later??) A1 was obvious so went along connetors until got continuity and only got it on one so had to be the the heater -26o. Wasn’t too much to get appliance out so dragged it out and double checked heater directly and confirmed I had correct terminals on pcb. Heater was fine 26 ish o..
PCB looked fine apart from a weeping cap. Lovely and clean. Relay looked good, all terminals looked fine. no obvious scortch marks apart from weeping cap.. Locally here, there’s an electronic engineer guy that I take faulty boards to.* He checked relay, apllied voltage to and tested relay again for correct operation… all fine. Weeping cap he removed and replaced (even though the weeping one tested ok) Checked all tracks and solder joints. He said all appears to be fine with the board. He did say as a precausion, he couldn’t 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} without a cct diagramme to confirm all connections on the pcb but is pretty sure it’s all ok :haier: :haier:
Need:
Help…
A cct diagramme. Two connectors for heater, one is big fat un (A1) tother is skinny buggar so does is switch via presure switch?? I know other Chris (P45) said it did switch from P/sw.
Open to suggestions.. Back Mon PM time permitting….
Customer says not heating and no fault codes. (not too sure how long tennants have been in situ?)* Only been using this guy a few weeks, he’s is very nearby and 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time will sort out stuff within the hour. Saves me trecking all the way to Maplins for a single item and ages trying to use my school boy soldering skills. His soldering skills put me to shame. So far he’s sorted all the other boards successfully for me. 😕 😕

it will be the pcb……if you have 26ohms across the connections at the PCB, you are confirming the complete wiring and circuits to the heater!
to check heater, put it on a 30 min cycle, or quick wash…as soon as you hear the dispenser open it starts to heat….i use a plug in energy monitor which shows the amps when heater comes on….
if you have heater circuit its the pcb…..
good luck chris

I would suggest replacing the relay anyway. I have found by experience, though mainly on washing machine modules, that although a relay will show as good on a test rig it can cause a fault code in use and replacing it often sorts out the problem. The contacts inside the relay will be a little burnt and that will be enough. When I replace them I always cut open the old one to confirm my suspicions.

errrm got to worth a try – I’ll run it past the agency and LL tomorrow. It’s the running around/time they’ll have to be prepared to pay for incase it doesn’t work… I’m even going past a Maplins in the morning on way to garage so could pick a up a new relay……a bit of running about could save nearly ton for a new board…. ta, will let you know… tks
ps might have to dig my bike out like you, facing a big garrage bill for two new discs, 2 sets of pads and bearings on at least one corner 😯 …that lease vehicle is looking better every day…

just to close this thread. Been trying for ages to get the go ahead to get the part from letting agents. Toay, I had to go and collect keys and pushed for an update.
Errrr (oh here we go…..) (little did they know I had overheard a conversation when I was supposed to be on hold to them but the line was open) .
Errmm, Well the tenants paid 6 months rent upfront and our account department neglected to take 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} maintenance holding fee and our fees before sending him the rent and we’ve got no money.
She then went on to say the landland hasn’t ansered any calls or e-mails for 10 days.
Also tenants have removed the DW and put their own one in.
So to end a long story, never did get to try the pcb.
Shame really because they are normally meticulously good timely payers.

So you’ll be sending in a bill for the initial call out then, won’t you?
Chris.

oh yes, including the parts delivered for the cooker (shelf and grill pan handle), how long it will take me to get it I don’t know.
They are good payers, I’ve done quite a few jobs for them since this one started and I’ve been paid so I have no doubt about what they’ve said.
The agency lady said yesterday, “no need to write to the LL, apart from not replying we tasked you with the work so”. 😀
Almost accepting responsibility in my books. I will keep it polite but firm. I don’t want to ruin what has been to now a good working relationship. But I won’t let it go, too stubborn and too tight according to my family, can’t see it myslef 😉

How ironic, I was sat next to the tenants at a school meeting today. Interesting talk afterwards.
Aparently, the Landlord definately has “gone to ground” Tenants have also been trying to get him to make a decision on this DW. No replies to calls or letters. Tenants have had enough and had it removed this morning and had their own stand along put in instead. They’ve written to the LL telling him they are going to deduct £5.00 pcm from their next rent they pay!!
What a nkob! Stick yer head in the ground and the problems will go away- sounds like a certain former PM we know.
I will bill for initial call labour and parts supplied, and wait until the next rent is due.
