After a suggestion from a UKW member, especially concerning the amount of Diplomat/Hygena dishwasher queries in the public forums it was mooted there could be specific forums for each subject matter.

The main reason UKW recieves so many people looking for particular queries is almost 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} down to Google.

Google constantly crawls the site and as it can’t crawl the trade forums it picks up all the info from the public one’s and indexes all that info, so if anyone types in “Diplomat Dishwasher fault code” that person will almost certainly see UKW high up on the results page, in fact it’s number one using that particular query.

In time the site will recieve more and more hits for other subjects as the information is posted, so looking ahead it’s probaly not a good idea to have specific forums as we could end up with 100’s eventually 😯

So, to gain a more varied amount of posts from the public, more varied information is needed to “feed” Google, this can be done by typing up a few words about an appliance and putting it anywhere on the site that Google can accesss, which is basically everywhere except the secure trade forums and PM’s etc.

The “reviews” section needs many more BTW if anyone fancies doing a few 😀

Don’t be foolod by the face of other search engines either, many are powered by Google 😉

I did a review last December on an Indesit WE14UK but Ken had a problem getting it up on the ‘Reviews’ site at the time. Then I guess it got mislaid? But if it works now I might try again?

I know what you mean about Google searching out key words like Diplomat. A year or 2 back now I had on my own website a reference to ‘Ocean appliances’. I deleted that reference because I was getting emailed queries from Timbuktu, Kazakhstan and Cardiff…!!! a nightmare it was !!
