ParticipantOver the weekend I sold a washing machine on eBay to a local guy who came to collect it with a wad of cash. I explained to him prior to collection he would need to bring someone to help him take it away ‘cos I wouldn’t be able to help due to my bad back. So he comes by today in a Transit van with his missus riding shotgun. He checks out the goods and duly hands me the money stating that he will be taking this machine to his villa in Spain next weekend to replace their existing heap on Candy rubbish apparently.
He then proceeds to hump the machine out through my back door and porch door having first slid a sack truck under it. He gets to the door threshold and his missus then lifts the machine up to ease the whole thing over. At this point the machine leaves the sack truck and as the truck lands on the floor below the machines side panel scratches against the trucks bottom plate. They continue on through the porch door out into the back garden whereupon he turns the machine & sacktruck (all the while the sacktruck is scratching the side panel as it’s not located properly) and bumps the machines control panel on the wall (big scratch on the plastic panel and soap drawer front).
He then charges toward the transit van where he’s set up some crazy ramp arrangement made out of MDF cupboard side panels that are too narrow to take the wheels of the truck! :rolls:
At that point I realised disaster being imminent I shout for him to stop and explained an easier and safer method of loading the machine on the van without the need of any ramp. Between hubby and missus they easily got the machine onto their van but oh my god was it ever scratched and dented. 🙁
Still, they seemed happy enough in spite of their little accidents and drove off into the sunset…………Hasta la vista baby!!!!!! 😀
Boy oh boy! I love eBay…….all these years I never gave it a thought but the profit and entertainment level it gives is priceless. Must dash…bidding is just about to end on another item I’ve got on there. 8)

I went to look at a Beko WMA520 yesterday. She said they had just bought it from a friend.
She said “it did drop on its front in the van, now the knobs feel a bit stiff.”
It had only gone and smashed the PCB to pieces. :rolls:

Possibly not, went to fit the new module from Masterpart this morning and it was totally dead. Confirmed new module was faulty by trying an ISE module which is similar and that worked. 😥
