ParticipantHi All.
This dishwasher is a Whirlpool.
All it will do is fill for 25 seconds then drain despite trying to reset it.
I`ve drained the base tray of water but nothing will make it do anything else.
Any ideas?.
Chris.

Sorry, don’t know the machines by model number, however going by the problems I encounter on Whirlpool/Diplomat or whatever name they go by it sounds like a problem with the flowmeter. This has to send so many pulses a second (guess who’s forgot how many) otherwise the machine aborts. It’s normally followed by seven flashes on the start button.
Tightening the connections to the flowmeter and pcb normally cures. Other things to check are water pressure/flow and inlet valve. I’ve also had similar faults cured by replacing the pressure switch.
Hope this helps but don’t shout at me if I’m wrong, I don’t know the machines by model number, I have to use the 12NC and not every dishwasher is on the S.A.MApril 21, 2004 at 9:02 pm #110924ChrisR

Thanks Den` 😀 .
Where is the flow meter situated?
Going on what you`ve said,I think you may have the answer.
Thanks.

The flow meter is part of the “air brake” “IWMS” (or any other name it goes under 😳 ), normally left hand side of the machine. Little propellor thing. Never had to change one yet though, always been bad connection.

Further to the last posts,I`ve got rid of the initial fault but now it keeps filling and starts to flood.
There is no pressure switch on this model so I presume the level is regulated by the flow meter which checks out OK.
Could the fault be within the pcb at the front of the machine?.Any ideas.

The pressure switch is located on the right hand side of the bowl, behind the tube heater. Again, check the cabling from the switch to the pcb.
