This one won’t start, live going through start switch and door interlock but nothing happening. All the wiring has continuity but dead as a Dodo.
Any pointers welcome.
Thanks

If this is the big industrial type check thermal fuse located on heater assy.
Pull down lower flap at front and should be there.

Thanks Steve,
I had a delve around but didn’t notice it. Will have a look tomorrow.

Some older models have one on the air duct at the rear also.
BG.
Also it starts via an induction type relay which is built into the motor. Can get choked up with fluff etc ,cleaning and lubrication helps.April 20, 2010 at 2:50 pm #318231robbra

Went back today.
Found what I think is the thermal fuse, looks like a white plastic part about 2 inches long with 2 tags in black. It is open circuit so will this stop everything working, just nothing at all?
I also found a 4 tag stat next to it with the two end closed and the middle ones o/c. Is this right?
The heater has live only to all terminals’
The motor is fluff free.
Just can’t think this would cause the whole thing to die.

Sent you some stuff. It it’s got two blue wires to it then if that failed it prevents the motor relay starting the whole cycle off.
Fan loose on shaft is a probability for the cause.

Hi Simps,
never got anything but that’s the part and open circuit.
Connect have a part WPL481925228115, different shape but seems to be the one. What do you think?

Sorry,it should be on it’s way(was sitting in the outbox),looking at the parts list that is the thermal fuse. Also check that the ducting that the filter pushes down in is clear.

There are two types of thermal fuse. Both 91deg.
Different shaped bodies.
I think you’ve got a Connect account Rob, so you only need tap in Whirlpool tumble dryer thermal fuse into the search box and they both come up.

BTW, the stat with 4 terminals. If the two in the middle are smaller it’s an accelerator heater resistor for the main stat. So it’ll have an appropriate high resistance.
Mike.
PS, There’s a little notice on the lower front of machine telling you something like, “If th.fuse is o/c replace it and the…?…Stat etc.”
Also, behind rear control panel is a folded paper circuit diagram.April 20, 2010 at 9:41 pm #318237robbra

Thanks Brian for all the help and diagram, it threw me at first with all temps in Farenheight but I think you have solved it.
Mike, Connect brings up the wrong one so your tip of the wording got the right one. Wouldn’t have thought of that 😳
Will keep you posted.

What can I say 😆
Thanks a lot lads, thermal fuse it was. One happy hotel and me feeling a bit richer.
The wiring diagrams were removed by electricians rewiring the hotel who were asked to look at it and stuck behind a box of Persil. You never know I might have worked it out on my own had I found them.
Thanks again.
Rob
PS. how can I email a beer? -
