    Hello all,

Our 10 years old Bosch WFF 1401 stopped turning last week after making a few odd sounds. The machine will go through the cycles as normal, the water will fill and drain correctly and the pump works fine. I therefore ordered and fitted genuine carbon brushes, but alas to no effect. The existing ones were indeed very short on removal.

On testing the motor it seemed that the small internal 15A fuse had blown. Soldiered on a link of 15amp fuse wire, and it all tested fine again. On retesting it in the machine there was no joy again, no rotation of the drum.

Any ideas where to go from here? The motor looked fine with no obvious damage and the carbon brushes seemed fine.

Thanks for your help in advance.

    Cheers.

Using your test meter, meter across the motor terminals. They are in pairs and you should get a reading in low ohms across each. If that’s OK, blown tracks on the timer/pcb is a distinct possiblity; triac on same pcb my have failed.
