    Has anyone seen a copy, there is very little info on the web site.

    Last Thursday I received a BEKO WMA520 PCB from them and went to fit it on Friday morning. The box was sealed but on opening I found the PCB was not clipped securely in the plastic housing. There was no evidence of any physical damage so I fitted it to the machine. Sadly it was totally dead, no lights nothing.

    The reason for changing this PCB was due to the machine having been dropped on its front in transit, the main selector switch was broken. There was no fault whatsoever on the machine to damage the new board.

    As this board looked identical to the PCB we use on the ISE CI555WH I tried one of those and it worked perfectly, confirming that the new board was faulty out of the box. As this was an ISE part I removed it and awaited the replacement.

    I rang Masterpart at once and was told a replacement would be sent out. I was also given the e-mail address of the person I needed to contact to arrange a return and credit for the faulty part. I sent an e-mail of at once but until today had received no reply.

    I received the replacement on Monday together with another invoice for £53.85. 😥 That was also not clipped into the plastic housing and had an alarming bend in it, it did however work perfectly when fitted.

    I have now had a letter informing me that ‘As it is a module it is non-returnable under our Terms & Conditions’. :rolls:

    I have always prided myself on my honesty and if I say it was faulty out of the box then you had better believe me.

    Reading the very limited T&C’s on the web site, it makes no mention of modules, however if I was the dishonest type there would still be time for me to inform them that the new module was damaged in transit then send then the faulty one back for credit.

    The reason I am posting that last remark in open forum is to let the people concerned know that I have no intention of doing such a thing but am now taking a long, hard look at who I do business with in future, trust and honesty is a two way thing.

    couldn`t agree more
    they lost my business when they decided to cancel my account for not ordering anything for 2 months
    and yet they still send me there special offers in the post

    I can understand the problem with modules, someone bungs one in a machine without checking and bang. Anyone trying to return a PCB with blown components or tracks is just plain stupid but this one is totally unmarked. 😥

    Most of the modules I get come with the board detached from the housing and there usually a tight fit.

    Jim I have to say that the T & C’s of Connect goes far deeper than simple returns on modules, timers etc. That it basically boils down to being a one man band, small fry account holder spending little and getting nothing but short shrift in return should anything go wrong. What I do suggest though is to speak directly to your ‘Connect rep’ and if you don’t know his/her name then find out and then start talking on a one to one over this particular issue.

    That just may solve your dilemma? Personally I’m not holding my breath but in all honesty…it’s your only hope of rationality v’s CDSL…. :rolls:

    Its funny how all of the identical ISE/BEKO PCB’s I have had have all been fully clipped into the plastic housing.

    Either way there was no sign of any damage and the second PCB which arrived in the same state was fine.

    I am aware that Masterpart may well get these parts with no warranty whatsoever from Beko but they will be getting a huge discount to take account of this.

    I like P45 put little or no mark up on spares and due to the fact that I have made four visits to this customer I am already out of pocket before I got hit for another £53.85.
    I know that life’s a bitch and all that but why should a small, one man operation with a very modest turnover be expected to stand a loss that is nothing to do with them when a large distribution company is making far more out of the faulty part in the first place. :rolls:

    I too received Masterpart’s standard letter re non-return of PCBs for the first time about 6 months ago, which I accepted at the time.

    However, Masterpart did later send me a copy of their T&Cs which I was intrigued to discover made no mention of this.

    So it seems Masterpart have changed their T&Cs but forgotten to update their written T&Cs!

    I have to say, Masterpart have been very reasonable of late in processing run of the mill returns for faulty items.

    I heard about this a little while back and as such don’t order pcb’s from Masterpart..but if I did, and it arrived faulty, I certainly wouldn’t be paying for it.

    Apart from what is on the web site I have never had a copy of the T & C’s in any shape or form.

    Qualtex and Connect also have a non-return on pcb’s policy.
    I have started explaining this to customers and taking money up front for pcb’s.

    Best to go direct through the manufacturers as you can normally return if faulty.

    Just found from Masterpart T&Cs (1/1/1999):

    “All parts supplied (except electronic components ie timers and modules) are guaranteed for 6 months from the date of supply against failure resulting from faulty manufacture.”
