ParticipantMy HDV6 seems to have a very simple fault, but is it something that is easy to fix?
The on/off switch on the front no longer stays clicked in and as such the dryer won’t stay on.
I can hold it in and the dryer will function normally, but this is obviously not a solution!
Presumably this is a simple physical break in the switch itself but with Hoover wanting £100s to just come and look at it (there’s no warranty left) it seems like maybe i could do it myself? baring in mind i am no electrician! i can work with screws but soldering etc. is not something i want to get involved with.
any help welcomed.

Hi
It certainly sounds like the on off switch itself part number 28225103,
I am sure this would obtainable from this site, contact spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk whom should be able to source it for you. If not PM me and I will see what I can do.
Remember, ALWAYS work on the appliance with it disconnected from the mains supply. Safety is the main thing.
Good Luck!

the switch isnt supposed to stay in it only energises the relay on the small pcb behind the control panel, the pcb will need replaced.
plug out obviously.May 6, 2010 at 11:59 am #319003mgooding

yeah, read this a little late.
got the machine apart easily enough and discovered the switch didn’t click in the same way as the heat setting one does. and assumed that it was broke.
so the new switch I’ve just received was a pointless purchase!
so i need a new PCB board then? part no/link?
thanks.

I have the same issue as above. Was it the pub or just the switch. Hope you had success?
