ParticipantWe’ve had our ISE10 about a week now, and we’re pleased with it. It’s built like a tank, and seems to do a good job in very short wash times.
The 1600 spin speed is brilliant. Clothes come out appreciably drier It’s so fast it vibrates the flap down panel on the front which is a bit annoying as it makes it a bit noisy. Some stronger springs here would help I guess
Our only real issue is the noise. We were prepared for the loud filling which others have noted(and it is much louder than previous machine), and also you’ve got to expect that the 1600 spins are going to be quite noisy. But compared to the Miele we were using, it is just a noisier machine all round. The pump (I think) is the real culprit here – at some points in the cycle it sort of pulses rhythmically (it actually sounds like that ‘whump whump’ noise that the Tardis makes 😉 ) and it’s really loud. We have to shut the kitchen door if it’s on to keep the noise down through the house.
Compared to the whisper-quiet Miele it is a bit of a shock – results are as good between the two machines, but if you have your washer in the kitchen rather than a utility room, for example, you might want to think about this factor. All in all I’d say it’s a good machine – certainly looks like its going to go on forever, and the 10 year warranty is fanstastic imo. It’s basically intsall and forget
One final thing was the installation – ours came from a delivery company who were good, but all they do is connect and go. If it’s important to you to have an engineer install it and give you a run through, check that this is what you will get when you order. Trying to move one of these things to balance the feet after it has been delivered and you find on first spin it’s wobbling is no fun 😯

The noise issue concerns me. We have an open plan downstairs and our current machine is so noisy it makes watching tv a nightmare. I was hoping this great ISE machine would be much quieter and we were prepared for the gush of water into the machine but I’m not going to put up with all the way through the cylce. Maybe I have to do with a Miele.

I missed this thread until now.
All I’d say or, rather do, is point people to this article which explains all about noise levels and why, most of the time, it’s a moot point.

We’ve had an ISE10 for a couple of years. So quiet we occasionally have to check to make sure thing is running. 😆

So mixed on whether it’s noisy or not. All I’d say is currently we have a hotpoint and the only time it’s really noisy is the spin cycle. We wanted to get something really quiet and I have some conerns over the ISE 10 on this point whereas the Miele seems to be very very quiet. Anyone know of any videos of one running so we can judge for ourselves. I cannot actually see one in action.

I think the expectation was that you might comment on what can be expected in terms of a demo/installation, rather than the noise.

It is, at best, impractical to demo large appliances for several reasons.
In home demonstrations are totally out of the question unless of course you can find some way to pay a good couple hundred quid per demo by the time you deliver, install and remove.
To demo an appliance via the internet, video etc., while possible doesn’t give any indication as to noise levels. It depends how high you turn the volume up as to how noisy it can appear, what sort of room the sound was recorded in and a host of other factors, just in the same way as the article on noise lays out.
So, not really practical.

Hi, slightly crossed wires still, I think. I wasn’t asking about any sort of demo pre purchase. The OP stated
“One final thing was the installation – ours came from a delivery company who were good, but all they do is connect and go. If it’s important to you to have an engineer install it and give you a run through, check that this is what you will get when you order.”
This is no doubt because the delivery cost that is charged says that it includes “installation and commissioning of the appliance, that is it will be installed and tested to ensure that it is working” and on the product website it also says (I paraphrase) “Our products are sold on line by… independent repairers who will install and demonstrate your new machine”.
So he was just saying if a test of the machine is important after you buy it and have it installed, make sure you ask about it in advance. It may be an independent is more likely to give a run through than if you buy direct from ISE who may just arrrange delivery & installation?

Speaking as an indie who sells ISE appliances amongst others I can safely say we would never leave an install without testing the product first if only to check for water soundness of the connections!
We always give a demonstration of how to operate the equipment too…the ISE10’s being particularly easy to operate.

For the quality involved the price is competetive, discounts are for the sheds. 😉
If RDS apears to be your nearest dealer then give them a call or drop an e-mail to admin@iseappliances.co.uk

01494 485926Hi Clive,
I did speak to Merv mid afternoon, returned my call from earlier for you.
He said you don’t cover Reading, despite me saying you are my nearest engineers, beating RDS by 5 miles.
It is indeed Eastern Reading… -
