    Hi all,
I really want a retro-style fridge freezer (not Smeg please) as a feature for our kitchen renovation. I would need a 70:30, 60:40 or similar split. The problem is that I cant find one which is Frost Free. I would much prefer to have an FF fridge freezer. Does anyone know of any? I really like the Gorenje retro f/fs, but again they are manual defrost. The closest I have found is a mildly retro-inspired Miele, which does have horizontal handles but is still stainless steel rather than pastel. I also dont like the “locking” handles on it much.
    Any help? 🙂

why do you want frost free? these days frost free is more hassle than its worth… and you should really still defrost frost free f/fs bi-yearly anyway…

get the gorenje, with the extra long warranty (still 5yr p&l i think), peel the gorenje letters off and buy “s”, “m”, “e” and “g” from halfords till twirly thing and your sorted 😛

My learned colleague is telling you that Gorenje manufacture the SMEG retro fridges. If they ever bother to sort out the problem with the front chassis rail (Which supports the door) collapsing, it’d be a decent fridge.

yehi hate the way manufacturers deliberately design parts that are “engineered to fail” like every other common fault with every other otherwise decent appliance…

at least with the gorenje you wont have to pay smegs part prices when it does go wrong…
