Hi, I’ve had a good search on this forum for help before posting so I hope this hasn’t been covered before.

I have an Indesit FM23KIX(GB) oven/grill. Just recently the thermostat seemed to stop working so today I have replaced it but the problem still persists.

I’ll try to explain the problem best I can. The oven will continue to heat even though the thermostat has ‘clicked’ however the grill works fine and cuts out when the thermostat ‘clicks’. As mentioned previously I have replaced the thermostat with a new unit.

I noticed this first when I put something in the oven after the light had gone out, but, when I closed the door the light came on (thought nothing of it) resulting in burnt food. When I replaced the thermostat it seemed to work fine, got the oven to temperature and then the light went out, put in a pizza, shut the door and the light flicked on then off, tried it again and this time the light stayed on, same thing 🙁

I assume now that it’s not the thermostat but something else. Can anyone help me out at all?

    Thanks, Lee.

Looks like I was a bit premature asking for help, it seems the ‘tray’ that the lower element sits on had come loose and was arcing against the chassis, fastened it back up and put the old thermostat in and it’s fixed 🙂

    Thanks for reading, Lee.
